About
Kristie McLeod is Story Manager at Furiosity Marketing, where she leads the Story Team in brand development, messaging, content strategy, social media, SEO, and more. Day to day, Kristie works with clients to understand their unique position in their industry, highlight their brand story, and develop messaging that effectively communicates their value.
Kristie holds a BA in English from The University of Akron, where she built the foundation in writing and language that anchors her work today. She pairs that strong command of words with strategic thinking, guiding clients and her team toward messaging that is clear, purposeful, and true to each brand.
Since joining Furiosity in 2016, Kristie has been a linchpin of the Story Team, creating memorable campaigns and deliverables for clients across industries. She sets the direction for the team’s work, from blogs and landing pages to full website content, and has seen that work drive real growth for the businesses she serves.
Kristie is naturally curious, and that curiosity fuels the research and strategy behind her work. She digs deep into each client’s business and goes the extra mile in ways others might not think of, always looking for ways to take a client’s story somewhere new.
What makes Furiosity’s Story Team different from the average content team?
The reason we’re called the Story Team is because we really focus on extracting each client’s unique story and using that to align everything we do, from website copy to social media posts. It’s a different way of looking at things, and it really allows us to imbue more of our clients’ personalities into the content we create.
You’ve been at Furiosity for a long time—what are some of the highlights for you from over the years?
That’s a tough one because there have been so many! Generally I just love cultivating long-term relationships with clients and getting to know them more over the span of years.
What motivates you?
I’m driven by constantly learning, which has lent itself well to researching, finding errors, and being able to go the extra mile to explore territory that’s not always obvious. I love to be that source of knowledge and expertise for our clients.
Who was the first writer who made you want to be a writer?
Shel Silverstein! I’ve always loved Where the Sidewalk Ends. I got it as a gift in third grade and would read the poems often. And when you read his work as an adult, it takes on such a new meaning.
Every brand or organization has a story – I love uncovering it, shaping it, and ensuring every touchpoint reflects it. When strategy and storytelling align with purpose, they build clarity, confidence, and lasting audience connection.
