About
Amy Husted is an entrepreneur and operations leader whose career has been shaped by building businesses from the ground up and turning ideas into scalable, fundable companies.
Amy began her career as an entrepreneur of a custom cake and cake pop at-home bakery boutique called La Hoot. Building her own business while being a mother of two proved to be challenging, and coordinating babysitting to focus on delivering product was a daily event. As a result, she co-founded her next passion, Komae – a venture-backed babysitting exchange app in which she played a central role in fundraising, commercialization, and early growth. During her time with Komae, Amy helped raise approximately $750,000 in venture capital, won 10 business pitch competitions, and worked hands-on across investor relations, go-to-market strategy, and operational execution. The experience sharpened her ability to bring structure to fast-moving, high-uncertainty environments.
Amy also held senior leadership roles in other early-stage ventures, including SmallTalk, where she operated as the Chief Commercial Officer, and worked to leverage IoT to connect app interfaces to audio hardware. Across these companies, she developed a reputation for bridging vision and execution by building systems, refining strategy, and helping startups move from concept to credibility. She was also selected for the inaugural Project Entrepreneur Venture program in New York City, a selective accelerator for women founders.
In 2022, Amy joined Furiosity Marketing as Director of Production, bringing her startup-honed discipline to agency operations. She was promoted to Vice President of Performance in 2023 and, in early 2025, became a co-owner of the agency alongside her husband, Andrew Husted. Today, as Vice President of Performance and Chief Operating Officer, Amy oversees operations, performance systems, and execution strategy–applying an entrepreneurial mindset to help Furiosity and its clients grow with clarity and intention.
You and Andrew purchased Furiosity at the start of 2025. What drove that decision?
Andrew and I have always found ourselves leading alongside one another—whether at church or on professional projects. When the opportunity to own and operate Furiosity arose, it was a no-brainer decision that we hardly had to discuss. With our combined experience, complimentary skill sets, and shared vision for a thriving company culture, Andrew and I are uniquely suited to lead this company side-by-side.
Do you have any favorite types of projects?
I really enjoy website builds, as they’re great opportunities for all of our teams to participate and take pride in the work. Launching a great website requires detailed project management, meaningful storytelling, user-driven design, and a technical foundation that puts it all on display. When new websites go live, it’s something we all enjoy celebrating together!
What’s your spirit core value?
Professional Pride is the core value I created at a time that we really wanted to reinvigorate the team to take pride in the unique skills that they each bring to Furiosity. As a service business, we are nothing without the time and talents of our people. Celebrating and fanning the flames of their pride in their craft is essential not only for the growth of Furiosity, but for the growth and satisfaction of each of them as professionals.
One of my favorite quotes from Wonka — 'It's not the chocolate that matters, it's the people you share it with' — is the perfect definition of partnership here at Furiosity. Of course we love the work we do, but most of all, we love who we do it with and who we do it for.
