About
Katie Murphy is a Project Manager at Furiosity Marketing. In her hands-on role, she oversees a wide range of creative projects across Furiosity’s client roster to ensure efficiency and productivity.
Katie’s path to project management wasn’t a straight line. She originally set out to pursue nutrition, earning her BS in Nutrition from Purdue Global, but discovered along the way that she was drawn more to the management side of things, finding fulfillment in creating processes that make work easier and more efficient for everyone involved.
An analytically minded professional, Katie brings a calm confidence to her work that reflects in the results she delivers to clients. She’s self-motivated by nature, driven by a genuine desire to do good work and contribute to something that matters, especially alongside a team she feels genuinely cares about what they’re doing.
Katie brings a unique strength to her role: a highly analytical mindset paired with a genuine appreciation for the creative work happening around her. That combination allows her to support Furiosity’s creative teams in a way that lets their best ideas shine through.
What drew you to project management?
I initially wanted to go into nutrition, but I ended up working as an office manager and found that I really loved being able to create processes that make work easier for everyone. That’s easily my favorite part of the job.
Do you have any favorite types of projects?
I like them all! I really enjoy overseeing all kinds of creative projects. My brain is more analytical, so to see the brilliance of our creative team is really fun, and I like that I can bring in my analytical approach and add a lot of value to our processes.
What’s something people often misunderstand about project management?
A lot of people think process kills creativity, but good process should actually protect it and let it flourish. The less our creative team has to worry about the logistics of a project, the more they can focus on the work.
What’s your spirit core value?
I think Bold & Honest. I love that everyone at Furiosity wants to hear new ideas, and nothing is turned down because it’s too difficult. To be in that kind of encouraging work environment has certainly helped me be more bold and honest, and I feel empowered to bring up my ideas.
I love that I get to help amazing clients and work with people who truly care. My goal is to make things easier and more efficient for both clients and team members.
