About

Background & Philosophy

Eric O’Boyle is a Web Developer at Furiosity Marketing, where his instinct for problem-solving and steady, self-taught determination help bring client websites to life.

Eric’s path into web development wasn’t a traditional one. While working in warehousing roles that involved data entry and other computer-based tasks, he discovered a natural aptitude for technology and started teaching himself along the way. With encouragement from his brother-in-law, a fellow web developer, Eric decided to go back to school, earning a degree in Computer Science/Web Development from Stark State College.

Since joining the Furiosity team in 2023, Eric has brought his web development experience to a wide range of client websites, building sites from the ground up and problem-solving along the way. His work often involves untangling complex, code-heavy issues, from page speed slowdowns to backend bugs, that take patience and persistence to fully resolve. Every site brings its own set of quirks, and Eric approaches each one as a fresh puzzle rather than a repeat of something he’s already solved.

He’s guided by a strong sense of professional pride: a drive to give every project his full effort, set a good example, and keep learning, since every problem he encounters is a little different from the last.

Get to Know Eric

Do you have any favorite projects?

The website build for Dream Connection stands out to me. It’s not usually something I get emotionally invested in—my brain tends to think in shapes and spaces rather than content—but this one was different. I could relate to the kids and families involved, and it felt good knowing I was helping a good cause.

What’s a common misconception about your role?

People assume that if a problem sounds familiar, it’ll play out the same way it did before, but every issue is different, even when it looks like something you’ve seen a hundred times.

What’s your spirit core value?

Humble & Confident. It’s actually how I used to describe myself before I even found Furiosity. I’m always willing to learn new things, and that takes humility: stopping, listening, and accepting there’s always more to learn. The confidence comes once you’ve gotten the hang of it.

Web development involves a lot of the unknown. We're constantly students, teaching ourselves new software and tech, and what worked before might not work now.
